The Art of Shelling
A complete guide to finding shells and other beach collectibles at shelling locations from Florida to Maine

Chuck and Debbie Robinson, Manasquan, NJ, are proud to announce the publication of the third edition of their popular book The Art of Shelling.  The book has attracted the interest of shell collectors and beach lovers world-wide.

The Art of Shelling was first published in 1995.  This new addition has added facts about shells and the animals that make and live in them.  The book answers many of the questions people have about seashells including, what is a shell, how is it made, what is a mollusk, what do these animals eat, why are shells different shapes, and more!  The book provides information about shelling techniques and exactly how and where to look for shells.

The Art of Shelling is the Robinsons' way of sharing what they have learned during almost twenty-five years of intensive seashore travel, beach exploration, and mollusk study.

Use The Art of Shelling as a guide to the areas mentioned. Take this book with you on your excursions as a reference source. Utilize the information provided to find new places to explore.

Treasure For Our Sand Castle
For Young Readers, Kindergarten through Third Grade

Two children build a big and beautiful sand castle. One child is the narrator and says, “Let’s decorate it with treasure. Walk along the beach with me to see what we can find.” The children find many interesting seashells and other forms of sea life. Suddenly they realize “we were finding the castle’s treasure all along our walk, but we didn’t even know it.”

Treasure For Our Sand Castle is a fun story with whimsical ghost crabs, containing factual information about seashells, sea life, and the beach environment.

The illustrations, done in pen and ink and tinted with acrylics, were designed to allow for the addition of colors by the reader. The title page has a place for the child to write his or her name with the authors’ and illustrator’s.
